Good evening, parents and guardians. The transportation department has advised that bus 127 will operate in place of bus 122 and pick-up and drop-off times will return to normal operation starting tomorrow morning. Thank you and we apologize for the late message.

After careful consideration of every student, we have decided that we will have to cancel our program for tomorrow night. Our students have worked very hard to learn their parts for "How to Train Your Reindeer (to Fly)," but unfortunately, many are not well right now. We will make new plans for a new production in the new year, and we are thankful for your support and understanding!

Good evening parents and guardians. Students who usually ride bus 122 will ride bus 127 for the remainder of the week. The driver will have a slightly longer route and advises that students should prepare to be picked up about 10 minutes earlier than usual. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Good afternoon, we do apologize for such a short notice, but the students that ride bus 122 will be getting home maybe 15-30 minutes later than usual. The students have been split between two buses, so some will be riding bus 147 and the others will be riding bus 130. Also any regular students riding bus 147 or bus 130 may be late getting home as well. We are sorry for the inconvenience and we appreciate your understanding.

Good afternoon, Trenton Elementary Parents and Guardians! I wanted to share a few announcements with you leading into next week's field trip. Only students with a signed field trip form will be allowed to participate in the field trip. Any student unable to attend or who chooses not to attend will receive their regular educational day at the school with our staff. We will arrive as scheduled and eat breakfast at the school. We will load and leave at 8:30 a.m. and arrive at Noble's Tree Farm at 9:00 a.m. As a matter of safety, only parents or guardians with approved volunteer applications on file with the District Office will be allowed to join us. We will have several activities and conclude with a bagged lunch on the farm. We will arrive back at school between 1:00 and 1:30 p.m. If rain is favorable in the forecast, we will have to reschedule the event in December as there is not large shelter on site. Additionally, a form was sent home requesting several parental permissions. Please complete this form and return it to your child's teacher. We want to share the many exciting things happening at the school, but we will not take and share your child's photo without your consent. Please do not hesitate to call me at the school with any questions or concerns. Thank you, and have a great weekend!

Parents and Guardians, please ask your students for the Picture Day information, which was sent home today. Each student has a unique login from the photographer that will allow you to view proofs and decide which photos you would like to order this year. Additionally, all payments will be between you and the photographer. Please do not send money to school on picture day, October 4th. Thank you, and have a great weekend!

Good afternoon, parents/guardian this is to inform you that Bus 130 will be arriving maybe 10-15 minutes earlier or later depending on where your child is on the bus route. We apologize for any inconvenience and we thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

A threat on social media was intercepted, and due to the nature of the threat, the school administration and the Jones County Sheriff’s Office felt a more visible presence would be warranted on campus today. The Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with other agencies, conducted interviews and determined that Jones County Public Schools were never the subject of a threat. We did however feel that additional law enforcement presence would comfort and reassure our students, parents, and faculty that we will always take precautions when it comes to the safety and security of our schools.

Yesterday, JSHS and TES received a report of a potentially armed individual on school property. Immediately, students were sheltered in place, and the School Resource Officer (SRO) was notified. Administrators and the Emergency Response Team, including the SRO, quickly cleared the building using our established joint protocols. We quickly identified no credible threat and determined that students and staff were never in danger. We are pleased with our response to this perceived threat and will continue to work together to ensure our students and staff's safety and well-being. Additionally, we will continue to identify areas that will further strengthen the security of our facilities. We are grateful for our partnership with the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, and we thank you for your understanding and support.
